Resumé [2018]
I've rediscovered Dorothy Parker’s poem “Resumé” recently and paid a tribute in making a handmade artist-book. Dorothy Parker was a master of the alphabet and sharp like a cactus to defence herself.
The "Resumé" book is hand-bound over dyed pink-orange ribbons, the signatures are sewn with orange thread. The sewn-in photo's are selected from my greenhouse series. And the other images from the same series are laser-printed over Albrecht Dürer's alphabet postcards and then stitched back to back together with a Singer sewing machine from 1910. The poem is rubber stamped on Japanese Gampi paper.
